Entrepreneurship: The dream with a harsh reality

The trailer makes it look obvious. Freedom, ownership, something that's finally yours. None of that is wrong; it's just incomplete.

What they leave out: uncertainty becomes your default setting. The emotional insulation a big company gives you - the systems, the titles, the general sense that things keep running whether you show up or not - disappears fast.

I left London fintech to build something with an old school friend. Real trust, but nowhere to hide. That combination sharpens everything quickly. One strong day and the future feels obvious. One bad week and you're questioning the whole premise.

That volatility isn't a bug. It's just the environment you're now operating in.

I'm still in because the hard version is more honest than the polished one. You find out what you actually care about quickly when there's nothing insulating you from the cost of being wrong.
